Hill of Crosses
The Hill of Crosses is an internationally famous pilgrimage site located near Šiauliai in northern Lithuania, covered by over one hundred thousand wooden, iron, and stone crosses. Stemming from 19th-century anti-Tsarist uprisings, the sacred hill possesses a deeply mystical and ghostly atmosphere, where phantom monks and ethereal chants echo through the dense forest of crucifixes.
