Lambi Dehar Mines

Lambi Dehar Mines, situated near Hathipaon in the outskirts of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, is one of the most infamous abandoned industrial sites in India. Once an active opencast limestone quarry employing tens of thousands of workers, the mine was permanently shut down in the early 1990s following a catastrophic safety failure that caused widespread respiratory illness and mass casualties. Today, the desolate, overgrown quarry is infamous for agonizing nighttime screams, phantom lights, and tales of a vengeful witch guarding the mountain ruins.
