Hotel Asma is a massive, abandoned hill-crest resort hotel standing directly above the famous blue-painted medina of Chefchaouen in the Rif Mountains. Built in the late twentieth century to accommodate luxury international tourism, the multi-story hotel suffered financial downfall and structural neglect, eventually becoming completely derelict. Modern urban explorers and local residents describe phantom footsteps in empty carpetless corridors, mysterious lights flickering in windowless top-floor suites, and lingering spirit activity amidst the decaying concrete ruins.
