Senator Angel Leon Guerrero Santos Latte Stone Park

    HagåtñaGuam800 AD – 1521 AD / Pre-colonial Era

Senator Angel Leon Guerrero Santos Latte Stone Park (commonly known as Latte Stone Park) is an important archaeological and cultural sanctuary located at the base of the limestone cliffline in downtown Hagåtña. The park houses eight massive ancient CHamoru latte stone pillars (haligi and tasa) dating back to between 800 AD and 1521 AD, which were excavated from an ancient southern village in Fena and relocated here after World War II. Because ancient CHamorus built their homes atop latte stones and buried revered ancestors beneath the pillars, the park is revered as a sacred resting place for ancestral spirits (Taotaomo'na), where visitors frequently experience unexplained shadows, whispers, and spiritual encounters.
