    The Farnsworth House Inn, located at 401 Baltimore Street in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is a historic 19th-century bed and breakfast renowned as one of the most actively haunted inns in the United States. Constructed in 1810 with a prominent brick addition in 1833, the building stood directly in the crossfire of the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863. Confederate sharpshooters commandeered the garret attic, firing upon Union troops on Cemetery Hill and allegedly firing the stray bullet that killed Jennie Wade, the battle's only civilian casualty. Bearing over 100 visible bullet pockmarks on its south wall, the inn functioned as a field hospital and is world-famous for its spectral residents, including Confederate snipers, a ghostly midwife named Mary, and a phantom child named Jeremy.

    Located on Main Street in Napanoch, New York, The Shanley Hotel is a famed 19th-century Victorian inn widely considered one of the most actively haunted hotels on the East Coast. Purchased in 1906 by Irish immigrant James Shanley, the building suffered multiple tragic deaths, including the infant deaths of all three of Shanley's children and the accidental drowning of a neighbor's daughter in an on-site well. Prominently featured on television shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Lab, the hotel offers overnight ghost hunts where guests routinely experience poltergeist activity, disembodied footsteps, shadow figures, and laughter.
