Yarborough Cemetery
Established in 1787 as the first official Anglican burial ground in British Honduras, Yarborough Cemetery is the resting place of colonial magistrates, prominent Baymen, mahogany barons, and victims of yellow fever outbreaks. Renowned in Belize City folklore, it is haunted by Victorian mourning figures, phantom funeral processions, and glowing spectral lights. The site remains an essential, hauntingly preserved landmark of historic memory, Central American folklore, and paranormal research in Belize.
