Constructed in 1913 during Shimla's reign as the summer capital of British India, the grand timber-framed property gained fame following terrifying poltergeist activity experienced by British railway official Victor Bayley and his family, who abandoned the house after a locked upper room was mysteriously destroyed overnight.
