    Kalabagh House

    Mianwali DistrictPakistanEarly 20th century

Kalabagh House (also known as the Palace of Kalabagh or Bohar Bangla) is a sprawling ancestral estate located in the historic salt-mining town of Kalabagh in Mianwali District, Punjab. Overlooking the Indus River where it cuts through the Salt Range mountains, the estate was the private residence and political seat of Malik Amir Mohammad Khan, the formidable Nawab of Kalabagh who served as the authoritarian Governor of West Pakistan during the 1960s. Following his dramatic assassination inside the mansion in 1967, Kalabagh House became infamous for intense local hauntings, phantom footsteps in locked wings, and the lingering presence of the iron-willed Nawab.
