Pudu Jail Site
Pudu Jail (also known as Pudu Gaol) was a historic maximum-security prison located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Built by British colonial authorities between 1891 and 1895, the Victorian panopticon prison housed tens of thousands of inmates over its 105-year history. During World War II, the Japanese military used Pudu Jail as a prison camp and execution facility for Allied soldiers and resistance fighters. Until its decommissioning in 1996 and subsequent demolition, the prison was notorious for housing Malaysia's most dangerous criminals and carrying out hundreds of judicial executions by hanging, leaving a legacy of paranormal encounters, phantom cries, and chilling ghost stories.
