The Red Palace (Qasr Al-Ahmar)
The Red Palace, known locally as Qasr Al-Ahmar, is one of Kuwait’s most celebrated national historical landmarks and a prominent site of ghostly folklore. Constructed in 1896 under Sheikh Mubarak Al-Sabah, the fortified mud-brick complex was the epicentre of the fierce Battle of Jahra in October 1920. Today, behind its imposing red clay walls, visitors and caretakers report haunting phantom footsteps, disembodied Arabic whispers, and shadowy military apparitions patrolling the courtyards.
