Kežmarok Castle is an urban castle situated directly within the historic town of Kežmarok at the foot of the High Tatras in eastern Slovakia. Built in the 15th century by the Zápolya family, the castle is globally famous in regional folklore for the legend of the Black Lady, a tragic figure bound to haunt the fortress walls after stealing her husband's key ring and treasure.
