Al-Uqair Fort & Historic Port
Al-Uqair Fort and Historic Port, situated along the Arabian Gulf coast east of Al-Ahsa, was Saudi Arabia's primary ancient seaport. Famous across the Gulf as the location of the historic 1922 Protocol of Uqair, the imposing sea-fort and abandoned customs house stand isolated along coastal dunes, giving rise to local legends of ghost ships, phantom sentries, and coastal jinn.
