Ghost Town

Kayaköy Ghost Village
Nestled along a scenic green hillside near Fethiye in southwestern Türkiye, Kayaköy is an eerie open-air ghost town comprising over five hundred roofless stone houses and ruined Greek Orthodox churches. Once a bustling Lycian community known as Livissi, the settlement was abruptly depopulated during the 1923 population exchange between Greece and Türkiye. Today, its empty stone streets are preserved as a quiet monument where visitors report phantom echoes, spectral shadows, and an unmistakable aura of lingering grief across the valley.
