Jeti-Oguz (Seven Bulls) is a striking, fiery red sandstone rock ridge situated in a dramatic gorge south of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan. Famous across Central Asia for its imposing red cliff formations—resembling seven giant bulls standing shoulder-to-shoulder—and the nearby 'Broken Heart' rock, Jeti-Oguz is steeped in tragic Kyrgyz folklore. Ancient legends tell of a ruthless khan who slaughtered seven prize bulls to appease his vengeance, triggering a flood of hot blood that froze into these towering stone monoliths. Local villagers and visitors report hearing mournful wails, phantom weeping around the Broken Heart formation, and seeing spectral red glows emanating from the gorge during stormy nights.
