    Devarayanadurga

    TumakuruIndia17th century (Wodeyar Era)

Devarayanadurga is a historic hill station, ancient fort, and sacred temple town situated at an altitude of 1,204 meters in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka. Surrounded by dense reserve forests, rocky granite cliffs, and housing the famous Bhoganarasimha and Yoganarasimha temples, the hill fort was fortified in the 17th century by Mysore ruler Chikka Devaraja Wodeyar. Beyond its spiritual significance, the isolated hilltop and decaying fort ruins have long harbored local legends of phantom soldiers, eerie night whispers, and supernatural disquiet.
