Villa Sésini (Villa Susini)
Villa Sésini, also known as Villa Susini, is a grand neo-Moorish mansion perched on the heights of El Madania in Algiers. Built during the 19th century by French colonial authorities, the villa achieved dark notoriety during the Algerian War of Independence (1954–1962) when it was converted into a notorious detention and torture center operated by French military forces and intelligence units. Today, the mansion stands as a haunting monument to human suffering and national resistance, surrounded by persistent local reports of disembodied screams, chilling phantom echoes, cold spots, and unexplainable spectral activity within its subterranean holding cells and overgrown courtyards.
