    The House of the Bélmez Faces (Las Caras de Bélmez) in Jaén, Andalusia, is regarded as Spain's most famous and investigated mystery. On August 23, 1971, housewife María Gómez Cámara discovered a human face spontaneously forming on her concrete kitchen floor. Over the decades, dozens of haunting faces and figures appeared, erased themselves, and transformed across the floorboards—defying chemical paint analysis and drawing millions of curious visitors.
