Phoenician Wall of Batroun
Stretching along the azure Mediterranean coastline of ancient Batroun, the Phoenician Wall is an extraordinary 225-meter stone barrier carved out of natural petrified sand dunes in the 1st millennium BCE. Originally built by Phoenician mariners to shield the city's ancient harbor from destructive sea storms and naval invaders, the sea wall is steep in maritime history and supernatural lore, with reports of phantom sentinels, war horns, and ghostly mariners.
