Lifta Ghost Village
Lifta is a frozen-in-time ruined village situated on the steep slopes of a valley at the western gateway to Jerusalem. Depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, its hollow limestone houses, arched doorways, and ancient natural spring remain unnaturally intact amidst modern urbanization. Local lore and visitors report disembodied footsteps in subterranean oil presses, phantom whispers along empty terraced paths, and inexplicable dark silhouettes wandering among the overgrown olive groves after dusk.
