Grande Hotel Beira
The Grande Hotel Beira was once dubbed the 'Pride of Africa,' an opulent Art Deco luxury resort opened in 1954 along Mozambique's coast. After closing in 1963 due to severe financial losses, it served as a military base during the Mozambican Civil War and eventually became an urban ruin housing thousands of squatter families. Today, this colossal decaying superstructure is world-famous for its ominous atmosphere, tragic history, and frequent reports of haunting apparitions.
