    Belchen Tunnel

    EptingenSwitzerland1970

The Belchen Tunnel on the A2 motorway connecting Basel and Solothurn is the birthplace of Switzerland's most famous modern urban legend: the 'White Lady of Belchen' (Belchenfrau). Drivers since the early 1980s have reported picking up an elderly woman dressed in white near the tunnel entrance who warns of imminent disaster before vanishing from inside the moving car.
