Trafalgar Cemetery
Trafalgar Cemetery, situated just outside the historic Southport Gates in Gibraltar, served as a military burial ground between 1798 and 1814. Originally known as the Southport Ditch Cemetery, it contains the graves of casualties from major Napoleonic naval conflicts, including two sailors who died of wounds suffered at the iconic Battle of Trafalgar in 1805. Nestled amid lush greenery and ancient defensive walls, this peaceful yet mournful sanctuary is renowned for sightings of phantom sailors and disembodied whispers night after night.
