Ghost Hole Mine
Ghost Hole Mine is an abandoned late-19th-century gold mine located along the Gold Creek Track within Mount Coot-tha Reserve, near Brisbane. Mined briefly during the Queensland gold rush era, the site features hand-dug vertical shafts and timbered adits that were abandoned after yielding poor gold returns. It is famous in local Brisbane lore for its eerie atmosphere, reports of phantom pickaxe striking sounds echoing from deep underground, and tales of a forgotten miner who perished inside the shafts.
