Tsingoni Ancient Royal Mosque
Erected in 1538 under Sultan Isa ibn Mohamed, the Tsingoni Ancient Royal Mosque is the oldest surviving coral-stone mosque in France. Situated in the historic royal capital of Grande-Terre, this revered complex houses ornate coral mihrabs and royal sultans' tombs. Local oral history firmly connects the ancient precinct with protector djinns, spectral guardians, and night-time manifestations of historic sultans.
