Taipa Houses
The Taipa Houses (Casas de Taipa), located along Avenida da Praia on Taipa Island, comprise five distinctive mint-green Macanese colonial mansions built in 1921. Originally constructed as luxury summer residences for wealthy Portuguese civil servants and Macanese families, the complex now operates as the Taipa Houses Museum complex surrounded by lush gardens and a tranquil lotus wetland park. Despite their picturesque pastel charm, the mansions carry subtle paranormal legends tied to 20th-century family tragedies, colonial isolation, and ghost sightings along the shaded cobblestone promenade after dusk.
