Mehrangarh Fort
Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, is one of the largest and most magnificent fortresses in India. Rising 410 feet above the city on a sheer rocky cliff, the fort was founded in 1459 by Rao Jodha. Legendary lore claims the foundation was sealed with a human sacrifice—a man named Raja Ram Meghwal, who volunteered to be buried alive to lift a hermit's curse. The fort is renowned for its dark legends, phantom apparitions, and lingering historical spirits.
