Torre del Fantasma
The Torre del Fantasma ('Ghost Tower'), also known as the Auvert Auvert Building or Castillo de la Boca, is an iconic Art Nouveau residential tower located at the intersection of Avenida Almirante Brown, Wenceslao Villafañe, and Benito Pérez Galdós in the La Boca neighborhood of Buenos Aires. Designed in 1910 by Spanish architect Guillermo Álvarez for wealthy landowner María Luisa Auvert Aarnaudin, the castle-like tower is famous throughout Argentina for the tragic story of Clementina, a young painter who leapt to her death from the upper tower after allegedly being driven insane by invisible goblin-like creatures called 'Duendes.'
