    Murray House

    Murray House is a 19th-century Victorian-era colonial building originally constructed in 1846 as officers' quarters for the British Military's Murray Barracks in Central, Hong Kong. During the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong in World War II, the Imperial Japanese Military Intelligence turned Murray House into its headquarters, utilizing it as a notorious command and execution site where over 4,000 Hong Kong residents were tortured and executed. Dismantled in 1982 to make way for the Bank of China Tower and meticulously reassembled block-by-block in Stanley in 2000, Murray House remains famous for its ghost lore and government-sponsored exorcisms.
