    Situated on an isolated bushland ridge near the southern border of Royal National Park in New South Wales, the Waterfall Sanatorium (officially the Waterfall State Sanatorium for Consumptives) operated from 1909 to 1958 as Australia's primary isolation hospital for tuberculosis patients. Over its half-century of operation, thousands of terminally ill patients died within its specialized pavilion wards. Today, the atmospheric ruins, overgrown foundations, and abandoned cemetery grounds are widely regarded as one of Sydney's most active paranormal locations.
