    Pari Tibba (Fairy Hill)

    MussoorieIndiaAncient–present

Pari Tibba, translated as the 'Hill of the Fairies', is an isolated, densely forested mountain peak located east of Landour in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. Immortalized in the stories of iconic Indian author Ruskin Bond, this solitary 6,000-foot ridge remains completely uninhabited. Notorious for attracting an unusually high frequency of lightning strikes that repeatedly destroyed early British settlement attempts, Pari Tibba is shrouded in romantic and spooky legends of tragic star-crossed lovers, woodland fairies, and restless spirits.
