Rozafa Castle
Rozafa Castle stands on a steep rocky hill 130 metres above sea level in Shkodër, flanked by the Buna and Drin rivers. Famous throughout the Balkans for the tragic immurement legend of a young mother named Rozafa, the ancient citadel is renowned for stories of damp white lime oozing from stone walls said to be her milk, and phantom weeping heard by visitors at dusk.
