Sanatorio Santa María Punilla
Sanatorio Santa María Punilla is a massive, decaying hospital complex nestled in the hills of the Punilla Valley near Córdoba. Established in 1900 as a national tuberculosis sanatorium, the self-contained medical village accommodated thousands of patients seeking high-altitude fresh air treatment before the advent of antibiotics. Later converted into a psychiatric facility, the complex witnessed thousands of tragic deaths over nearly a century of operation before its eventual abandonment in the late 1980s. Known today as one of Argentina's most ominous abandoned ruins, it is famous for phantom screams, shadow figures, and intense paranormal encounters.
