Golshany Castle
Golshany Castle (also known as Halshany or Holszany Castle) is a legendary ruined 17th-century fortress situated in western Belarus. Once the grand residence of the Sapieha noble family, the ruins are world-famous in Slavic literature for two prominent apparitions: the White Lady of Golshany (a young woman immured alive within the castle walls) and the Black Monk. The site inspired Uladzimir Karatkevich's classic gothic detective novel 'The Dark Castle Olshany'.
