Bokor Hill Station
Perched 1,000 metres above sea level atop Bokor Mountain, Bokor Hill Station is Southeast Asia’s most famous mountain ghost town. Built by French colonial authorities in the 1920s as a high-altitude luxury retreat, the complex saw nearly one thousand indentured laborers die during its brutal construction. Abandoned twice during political turmoil and siege, the fog-shrouded ruins of the Grand Bokor Palace Hotel are widely believed to be haunted by lost laborers, former royal residents, and victims of decades of conflict.
