    Bafut Palace is the ancestral seat of the Fon of Bafut, representing over four centuries of Grassfields royal heritage and traditional governance. The historic palace complex includes over fifty structures, including the sacred Achum shrine constructed entirely from bamboo, thatch, and mud bricks. Renowned as a center of resistance during the Anglo-Bafut Wars, the palace grounds are steeped in stories of royal ghost drums, phantom warriors, and ancestral guardians.
