Rhumsiki Peaks
The Rhumsiki Peaks are a series of dramatic basaltic volcanic plugs soaring above the moon-like landscape of the Mandara Mountains in northern Cameroon near the Nigerian border. The surrounding village of Rhumsiki is famous worldwide for its ancient crab sorcery divination practices, where traditional shamans consult freshwater crabs to predict the future. Kapsiki elders regard the towering stone spires as sacred mountain sanctuaries inhabited by ancestral spirits and phantom lights.
