No. 31 Granville Road
No. 31 Granville Road in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, is infamous as the location of one of Hong Kong's most horrific and sensational criminal cases: the 1999 Hello Kitty murder. Inside a third-floor apartment, a 23-year-old night club hostess was kidnapped, tortured over a month, and dismembered by triad members who stuffed her skull inside a giant Hello Kitty plush doll. Following the crime, nearby residents and shopkeepers reported extreme ghost sightings. The original tenement building was demolished in 2012 and rebuilt as a hotel in 2016, but its chilling haunted reputation remains.
