Lac Salé
Lac Salé, situated near Bangoi Kouni on the northern tip of Grande Comore, is a deep, sulfurous crater lake wrapped in ancient Comorian mythology. According to local tradition, the lake formed when a divine entity submerged an unhospitable village after its residents refused water to a thirsty holy stranger. Known for its bottomless saltwater depths and unsettling silence, the site is believed to be inhabited by powerful aquatic spirits and jinn, making it one of the most feared and revered mystical locations in the archipelago.
