Paphos Archaeological Park & Agia Solomoni Catacombs
Encompassing the ancient city of Nea Paphos near the modern Kato Paphos harbor, Paphos Archaeological Park is a vast UNESCO World Heritage site filled with Greco-Roman ruins, exquisite floor mosaics, rock-cut underground tombs, and early Christian catacombs. Just outside the main park boundary lies the subterranean cave complex of Agia Solomoni, where a sacred terebinth tree covered in tied rag offerings guards the entrance to rock-hewn Christian chambers and a miraculous holy water spring, creating an atmosphere steeped in sacred mystery and dark ancient folklore.
