Houska Castle
Houska Castle stands as one of Central Europe's most enigmatic Gothic fortresses, renowned worldwide for being built over what local folklore claims is a bottomless abyss leading directly to Hell. Constructed in the late thirteenth century under Bohemian King Ottokar II, the castle was designed without strategic trade defenses, water sources, or royal quarters, directing all its defensive structures inward toward the central courtyard chapel.
