Zvíkov Castle
Perched on a rocky promontory above the confluence of the Vltava and Otava rivers, Zvíkov Castle is often celebrated as the king of Czech castles. Built in the thirteenth century under King Přemysl Otakar I, the royal stronghold is equally famous for its majestic Gothic architecture and its centuries-old mischievous spirit known as the Zvíkovský Rarášek.
