Helwan Palace, historically known as Princess Khadija Palace, is a grand late-nineteenth-century royal residence in southern Cairo. Built in 1895, the estate gained a eerie reputation due to its royal tragedies, subsequent use as a medical facility for chest diseases, and decades of neglect before its modern conversion into a cultural center.
