Vatulele Sea Caves
Vatulele Island, located south of Viti Levu, is famous for its sacred red prawns (*ura buta*), ancient rock art, and dramatic limestone sea caves. Along the island's jagged limestone cliffs, the sea caves hold a tragic 19th-century shipwreck legend—the Crying Child of Vatulele—whose disembodied weeping echoes across the coastal waters at low tide.
