Kojori Fortress
Perched on the volcanic, cliff-faced Azeula peak overlooking the southern approaches to Tbilisi, Kojori Fortress (Azeula Castle) is a dramatic 11th-century citadel steeped in royal tragedy and military sacrifice. Site of the heroic final stand of Georgian junkers during the 1921 Red Army invasion, its windswept ruins carry a solemn, haunting legacy. This historic site remains one of the most compelling and atmospheric dark tourism destinations in Georgia.
