Wolfsegg Castle
Perched on a limestone ridge above the Naab Valley near Regensburg, Wolfsegg Castle is a remarkably preserved thirteenth-century fortification famous throughout Bavaria. The castle is widely celebrated for its centuries-old ghost legend of the White Lady, identified in historical records as Klara von Helfenstein. Murdered by her jealous husband Lord Ulrich von Laaber in the late fourteenth century, her restless spirit is said to haunt the stone rooms and subterranean caves.
