    The Necromanteion of Acheron (Nekromanteion), situated on a hill near the confluence of the Acheron, Pyriphlegethon, and Cocytus rivers in Epirus, was the most famous ancient Greek oracle of the dead. Mentioned by Homer in the Odyssey, ancient pilgrims traveled here to commune with the spirits of the deceased in dark subterranean chambers, leaving behind a legacy of ancient necromancy, subterranean echo phenomena, and dark energy.
