Asan Bay Overlook & Memorial
Asan Bay Overlook, part of the War in the Pacific National Historical Park, sits atop Nimitz Hill offering panoramic views of the Asan invasion beaches where U.S. Marines landed on July 21, 1944, to liberate Guam from Japanese occupation. The site of intense artillery bombardment, fierce ridge warfare, and thousands of military and civilian casualties, the overlook features bronze memorial walls inscribed with the names of fallen American servicemen and CHamoru war survivors. The site is widely recognized by locals and historians as one of Guam's most active paranormal locations, characterized by sightings of phantom soldiers, disembodied cries, and unexplainable military march sounds.
