    Fonte Plateau Command Post & Bunker

    The Fonte Plateau Command Post (also known as the Japanese 29th Division Command Bunker) is a stark, subterranean military fortification carved into the limestone hills above Maina and Hagåtña. Serving as the primary command center for Lieutenant General Takeshi Takashina during the 1944 Battle of Guam, this reinforced concrete and cave tunnel complex was the scene of fierce combat when U.S. Marines stormed the plateau on July 25–28, 1944. Today, preserved as a unit of War in the Pacific National Historical Park, the pitch-black tunnels and blood-stained concrete chambers are notorious for intense paranormal activity, including phantom Japanese commands, disembodied footsteps, and oppressive cold spots.

The bridge and surrounding Maina River valley are nationally famous across Micronesia as the home of the 'White Lady of Maina' (I Señora Blanca), one of Guam's most enduring supernatural legends. According to local lore, the weeping phantom of a mother who lost her young child in a sudden river flood wanders the bridge and roadside at night, causing automobile engines to stall, headlights to flicker, and terrifying drivers with her ghostly presence in their rearview mirrors.
