    SolanIndia1898–1903 (British Raj)

Barog Tunnel No. 33, located beside Barog Railway Station along the Kalka-Shimla Railway, is a world-famous 1,143-meter mountain passage. Constructed during the British Raj, the site became infamous after its lead engineer, Colonel S. Barog, misaligned the tunnel shafts and took his own life nearby in 1900. Local tradition describes his ghost as a courteous, friendly phantom who frequents the dark stone passageways.

    Dagshai Central Jail & Cemetery

    SolanIndia1847–British Raj

Perched at an altitude of 6,087 feet in the Shimla Hills, Dagshai is one of India's oldest British cantonment towns. Its 1847 military central jail—featuring 54 windowless maximum-security cells—and its colonial cemetery are notorious for extreme paranormal activity. From the spectral apparitions of Irish mutineers executed inside the jail to the haunting white figure of Mary Weston guarding her ornate marble grave in the cemetery, Dagshai is widely considered Himachal Pradesh's most haunted location.
