Rig-e Jenn
Rig-e Jenn, known as the Dune of the Jinn or the Desert of Spirits, is an expanse of shifting sand dunes, treacherous quicksand patches, and salt marshes in Iran's Great Salt Desert (Dasht-e Kavir). According to ancient Persian folklore and bedouin oral tradition, the desolate region is ruled by supernatural entities and evil spirits that trick travelers, causing inexplicable disappearances and horrifying disorienting acoustic phenomena across the windswept waste.
